I am a self-employed doctor, business woman, content creator, speaker and in my spare time I travel all over the world.

I’m here to help over-worked and stressed young professionals learn how to achieve the work/life balance they desire, whilst living a healthier and happier lifestyle.

SO… WHY DID I DECIDE TO START A BLOG?

I wanted to share how you can maintain a busy work schedule and still enjoy a fun filled life. Anyone can use my advice to perfect their work/life balance too!

DO YOU WANT TO BECOME YOUR OWN BOSS TOO?

I trained and currently work as a medical doctor, so I think it’s fair to say I know a thing or two about hard work, long hours and stress!

BUT THAT WASN’T THE WAY I HAD IMAGINED LIFE TO BE! 

I wanted to help people as much as I could but I also wanted to be my own boss and have time to travel around the world.

For years I believed that life was as simple as this …

“The key to success is to put your head down, power on and achieve your career goals!”

Thinking that one day I would suddenly have my dream job, feel amazing and love my life automatically.

However, that is far from the truth. As I started working more, I actually started feeling worse not better.

  • I wasn’t fulfilled
  • I was always tired
  • I was struggling to find motivation
  • I even started questioning my career choice!

Basic things like a good diet, exercise and relaxation were not a priority in my life, I never planned to fit them into my schedule. Once my emotional and physical health began to dip, it had a knock-on effect on everything in my life.

The Moona I became was an increasingly caffeine fuelled, sleep deprived, lethargic and anxious person.

SURE, I LOOKED THE PART AND I DID MY JOB BUT I WASN’T TRULY HAPPY OR HEALTHY INSIDE. 

I knew that this was the job I wanted but not the lifestyle that I had aspired for.

So, I am going to share my tips with you, via my blog, on how I went from the ‘overworked doctor’ who had no social life to where I am today!

I WAS STARTING TO LOOK FOR ADVICE ON HOW TO CHANGE MY CAREER!

I was the person who rolled their eyes at the chirpy and enthusiastic colleague who came in 30 minutes early after a 1 mile run and a healthy breakfast. I had no idea how they did it. It was alien to me.

I was tired of feeling inadequate when comparing myself to social media ‘influencers’ despite actually having a successful career.

WHY DID MY WORK LIFE LEAVE ME FEELING LIKE I HAD NO LIFE?

When I got stressed, my lifestyle fell apart because I had no solid routine or coping mechanisms to fall back on. I realised I was just creating longer, darker tunnels in my mind while failing to reach my goals.

WHAT MADE ME DECIDE TO BECOME CEO OF MY LIFE?

I spent six months working in a hospice and I learned that when it comes to dying, there are two groups of people.

The first group were the ‘contented’

“I did all that I wanted in my short time and I am happy.”

The second group were the ‘disappointed’

“I wish I had spent more time with family or friends or doing things that I wanted, I didn’t have enough time.”

What surprised me the most was that these two groups of people didn’t actually differ in levels of achievement overall! Their age didn’t matter or the length of time they had been terminally ill. The difference was actually in mind-set. It was their attitude that had shaped how they had lived and how they ultimately perceived their life.

I decided I wanted to be part of the content group of people. I needed to change things in my life. I started to set new goals. I made a fresh start with my changed outlook.

HOW CAN I HELP YOU ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS AND BECOME YOUR OWN BOSS?

I’m lucky, my patients continually gift me with a wealth of life experience. I have used the skills I have learned in my career to make changes in my life.  I now happily and proudly live the lifestyle that I always wanted. I want to help others feel empowered to make changes too!

By no means am I saying that I am perfect. Yes … Doctors are normal people too with normal lives! Nor was my change overnight, in fact my stress levels went up before they went down.

However, I now get the privilege of sharing my knowledge and passions for:

  • HEALTH
  • CAREER SUCCESS

with my community of hard working women, that want to be successful at work whilst also having a great life too!
